Alfred Nobel chose to make this 18th century, Moorish house his home from 1890 to 1896, calling it his "nest". It sits surrounded by lush gardens that are now the property of the province of Imperia. Nobel moved to San Remo from Paris in hopes of curing chronic medical problems with the balmy Ligurian climate.
