The Red Trail or Sentiero Rosso (Cinque Terre) + My Favorites
This challenging trek, to complete, takes nine to 12 hours of straight hiking from tip to tail. The trail moves along the tops of the Ligurian ridges, allowing for breathtaking views of the villages and sea below. There are turn-offs to each of the five villages of the Cinque Terre, and several travellers choose to stop for at least one evening. Proper hiking shoes or boots are recommended, as well as drinking water, sunscreen and a hat, as great lengths of the trail are exposed to the sun. Address: Piazza Porta Maggiore | Portovenere, SP
